If this is your situation and you need to talk to someone about what you can do, please ring the Hanly Centre now on 01 2809795 and make an appointment to see a family intervention therapist.
The success of an intervention is as much about the family's healing and recovery as it is about the person who needs treatment. The Hanly Centre provides the only facilitator-led intervention programme of its kind in Ireland today.
Intervention is a powerful, highly effective process driven by love and compassion which offers both the family and the individual the opportunity to move towards improved emotional, behavioural, spiritual, cognitive and physical health. This process is also called recovery, a journey of hope, healing, empowerment, and connection.
The purpose of intervention is a) to promote healing in families and b) to motivate the person at the centre of the intervention to seek appropriate treatment.
The intervention programme consists of pre-intervention sessions for families to prepare them for intervening with their loved one at the intervention. There is also a post intervention debriefing. The whole process takes between 10 and 15 hours. It is carried out by an accredited family intervention therapist.
Children over 10 are welcome to participate on the intervention programme. It is their right to choose to participate with guidance and in agreement with their family. Children have a voice. They too have been affected by what has been happening in the family and their right to speak is acknowledged by the intervention process.
Contact the Hanly Centre on 01 2809795 and ask for John.
